Welcome!

I’m a professional actor, singer, and educator. I’m also a husband, dog-dad, writer, director, outdoor recreationalist, live-music-lover, and coffee enthusiast.

I’m lucky to have toured with two Broadway productions, Peter and the Starcatcher and Come From Away. I’ve developed a career out of storytelling with ensemble-building foundations from many years in Chicago. I’m open to new adventures, fresh ideas, stimulating conversations, creative problem-solving, and community building.

I hope to build bridges, listen-to-understand, lean forward with intention and curiosity, and bring people together…probably over coffee.

In 2023, I finished up a five-year run on the Broadway North American Tour of Come From Away — nearly 1,300 performances, closing in Victoria, British Columbia. My wife, Ashley Lanyon, and I made a significant move from Chicago to Seattle with our dog Charley.

Since our move, Ashley completed an MFA in Arts Leadership at Seattle University, a degree she worked her butt off for — congratulations, darling! In consecutive seasons, I've played King Arthur in Camelot and Tommy Albright in Brigadoon at Village Theatre, stepping into a "Golden Age" era, it seems.

"I feel my molecules have shifted."

Teaching has become a bigger part of my life. I'm in my third year of K-12 substituting and theater workshop leadership. I’ve served as an interim, full-time high school drama instructor for the same school, as well an associate director on other projects. At the onset of 2026, I co-led eleven high school students on a cultural immersion trip to Senegal, West Africa.

May this year be filled with joy, work, energy, gratitude — and some exciting developments on the horizon.

National Anthem

Here I am singing the Star-Spangled Banner at the Great American Ballpark on September 26, 2019. Longtime Reds commentator, Marty Brenneman, retired on that day. The Reds squared off with the Chicago Cubs. It was a beautiful day at the ballpark with the company of Come From Away present.

come from away - in concert

On the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, cast members from various Come From Away companies assembled on the Lincoln Memorial steps. This special night was made possible by Ford’s Theatre, in Washington, D.C., and the National Park Service. I’m rockin’ out about two minutes in…

WeatherTech National Commercial

In 2018, I learned an invaluable lesson—how to ride a Segway! Here is a National Commercial spot for WeatherTech, titled “Parking Garage Ninjas”, directed by Don Hoeg of Radar Studios. Enjoy!
